I love this album; Cold Day Memory is my second fave. I met the guys way back in 1998, my roommate and I knew a lot of the executives for one of the record chains and they would always hook it up with back stage passes; we would work meet and greets in their stores as security. Since that first time meeting them, to now - the band is sweet and considerate; they appreciate their fans and have never forgotten their roots. All of their albums are solid, but Clint Lowery kicks the band into the stratosphere with his song writing and its evident on Animosity. There isn't a bad song on this album - the whole body of work is exceptional! The first thing that blew me away about Animosity were the layered guitars and counter melodies between John Connoly and Clint Lowery's guitars. The next thing are the vocals, Lajon, Clint and Morgan all sing on Animosity and the different styles blend perfectly. I was always think that a good song has a hook to it (be it a riff or melody) and then the chorus kicks into high octane and takes you, the listener, to a different level - you feel that in songs like Beautiful, Praise, Trust, and Crucified. You also get a hint of how versatile Clint Lowery is, when he sings on Xmas Day. Pick it up and listen to this beast of an album - you won't be disappointed!
