If you like Underclass Hero or Screaming Bloody Murder you will hate this album. What a waste of money.

I've been waiting five years for this album and it's nothing short of perfect; it's everything I've come to love and expect from this band. After Deryck nearly died, you can hear the struggle he went through, and the band went through, on this album. Lyrically, it might be some of the strongest to date, dealing with his issues of addiction and almost dying, right to finding hope for a better way in the future. Vocally, Deryck hasn't lost a step. His singing is top notch, and even his shouting is great too on the more hardcore tracks. Instrumentally, this band just kills it. Tom and Jason do their thing awesomely, the return of Dave just nails it with the guitar solos and more of that metal influence. You can really tell how intricate the guiatr work is now that there are three of them. I was upset that Stevo left the band, but new drummer Frank Zummo absoltuely kills it, and could not be a better repalcement. He is a beast. There is not a single bad song on this album, but I do have my favorites. "Goddammit, I'm Dead Again", "Fake My Own Death", "God Sace Us All (Death to Pop), and "Twisted by Design". I also love how "The Rise and the Fall" kind fof brings the rapping style back a bit. Not nearly as fun as their earleir tracks, but still a welcome return. This album is dark, and has a Chuck vibe to it, but buy this record, support this band. One of the last few original punk bands out there still kicking today and making just as great music. Love you guys! Hopefully it won't be as long until the next record.

As much as I love stevo32, I honestly think that "The sums" (jk) are better off without him and that frank is a much better drummer and also.......Brownsound is back! Songs like "Breaking The Chain" and "War" have slow but powerful era to them and other songs like "God Save Us All" and "Fake My Own Death" have a more punky type sound to them. It's just a great album that is perfect to listen to if you want more Sum 41.

I just absolutely had to write a review on this album. Thank god there is still some awesome music out there. I was looking for good music and there was just nothing. And usually the only kind of rock we get anymore is this heavy metal crap. I'm no die hard punk fan but I have fond memories of sum 41 when i was little. This really does sound like chuck. Rock on!!!

The first few times I listened to this, I wasn't sure what to think. But I a hooked on this album. I have purchased every one of their albums, but I think this is my favorite. I love War and Twisted By Design. Those are my stand out tracks. II can listen to the whole album on repeat and not get tired of it. I'm so glad I bought this one.

I have to admit, I would have given this a solid 4 stars when it first came out, but I haven't been able to get enough. I especially love "The Fall and the Rise" and "Twisted by Design." I think Deryck & co. made a beautiful record that was just dark enough (but not too much so) to have elements of all the past albums, but still hold its own as a completely new and unique work. Two thumbs up!
