For Christ's sake! Don't compare Darkthrone's Crust punk albums to classics like Paunzerfast, Transylvanian Hunger, etc! Dakrthrone is just making the usic that they want. Who cares if they aren't making Troo, Kvlt Black Metal anymore. They just want to make their own music. Stop hating and open your minds! This album proves that Darkthrone can experiment and do it well! making music isn't about the fans, its about making what you want to make! As long as Darkthrone doesn't just totally sellout I'm fine with them making good albums!

After so many years of rough guitars and garage recording quality sound, They get a perfect sound. This is True Norwegian Black Metal! An amazing album that goes hand in hand with Transilvanian Hunger and Panzerfaust!

I know they sound nothing like old darkthrone but, I am attracted to it for some reason, its still really good mucic, Graveyard Sl**t and Whiskey Funeral are my favorites on this one

This album makes me sick. Right now i am listening to A Blaze In The Northern Sky and while im listening i realized something, recent Darkthrone is terrible. This album and the album after this (F.O.A.D.) are basically Crust Punk albums with some Black Metal riffs and vocals mixed in. Comparing this to the classics like A Blaze In The Northern Sky, Under A Funeral Moon, and the best Darkthrone album ever Transilvanian Hunger is pure blasphemy. I hope that Darkthrone goes back to their pure Black Metal style on their next album and leaves this horrible Crust Punk style.

This album would be better to get someone into to Black Metal(at least norweigen) because it's more like early black metal, its got more a punk rock sound except for the vocals but i'm not a fan. But if you like venom, well this is up your alley.

This album is proof that DARKTHRONE can do no wrong... Yeah, at first I was like what the hell...
but after several listens with an open mind, I've come to realize just how amazing this album actually is!!! Let the album grow on you. Listen with an open mind, and it helps to stare into the album cover while getting into the album initially!!! What an amazing album cover! DARKTHRONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is one album any Darkthrone fan should check out. they have changed from black metal to a certain type of punk/gothic but its all still goood!!

if someone was to tell me that this is darkthrone, i wouldn't believe them (though i would recognize fenriz). i miss hearing the same drum track on every song, and i miss the grim riffs as on the previous albums. i will buy this new release just because it is good to hear fenriz's voice, and the recording sounds correct for darkthrone.
