Self proclaimed by the singer himself, he just writes things he thinks will be popular. They may have stumbled upon success with torches, but this album is simply copying the times. Looks like they discovered tame Impala and tried their best to copy them.

Oh, boy where do I start… ok well this album is amazing, if placed alongside their first & smash-hit album, Torches wherein most folks first tasted the first sweet lick and the steady thumping beat to smooth & cool lyrics of the Rad 2-the max~ song ‘pumped up kicks’, which is the point where a lot of working stiffs simply chalked the band up to a one hit wonder… us musically inclined people out there definitely recognized the handful of other incredible kickass songs on the LP like Houdini, Helena Beat and Don’t Stop as the master works of a band of immense talent, and crossed our fingers hoping that the band would continue to grow into itself, widening its musical repertoire to equal a consistent level of awesomeness throughout the years to come ahead, and that they also wouldn’t completely self destruct with drugs as so many in the business often do, especially with them catering to the high energy and unique pop-techno-alternative blending of music that commonly carries with it an atmosphere entailing fistfuls O’ uppers, pills and club drugs that makes them go longer and harder on the road. They definitely stand out from the rest, the amount of new music hitting the customer these days is staggering overall since the business model and sales have shifted, yet these guys keep putting out records that are uncompromising in sheer quality and effort, beats that hit us in the stomach, moving our souls to the very core which we know and love so much. They’re only getting better and better over the years folks as I’d sooo hoped for long ago.

This album is just as good as their first one. Upbeat and just fun to listen to. This has been a forgotten group after Pumped up Kicks but they are back and sound great.
  • Amazing but

Foster The People is merely known for “Pumped up Kicks”, but to be honest, this album brings out a whole new FTP that fans have never seen. The techno music mixed with classic 80s and modern Alternative have been perfectly combined by this band in the album. The vocals of Mark Foster can only be described as angelic due to his range. This album is a true work of art that all NEED to listen to.
