Yes, since their first two albums that captured us all, they have changed their sound. But I still love them, because even though the sound has changed (and they should be allowed to evolve as all artists do) it is clearly them. Their lyrics have always been shockingly relevant, real, playful, and just open. Some songs are oddly political which ignites a rare kind of fire. One song, if I'm interpreting right, is about a transgender, and we still get our hallmark signature style The Script heartbeak songs. Written in the Scars is so relateable. Freedom Child speaks to every part of me. I listen to The Script when I'm happy, driving, sad. They write the music that feeds my soul in it's darkest and lightest moments.

this record is not even quality light pop.
My bet is that the bitter taste of the response to this album will get these Dublin boys back on their horses and back to hits that stand apart.

This album is definitely worth the 5 stars, if I could make it 100 stars I WOULD (NO KIDDING I'M SERIOUS). Hands down one of the best The Script album. Such a masterpiece. The first time I heard “Rain” I was so disappointed, but as I tried to listen to it a few more times, it just dawned to me how great the song really is. When the whole album dropped, I listened to it from start to finish and I was speechless.. The songs are kinda different from what The Script used to create, but man.. this album is just so good.... I like all of its songs, there's nothing that I skip. When I listen to it for the first time I was like back in the very first moment I got hooked to this band. Massive love The Script! Keep on doing great!
