  • So Good

Audrey delivers fresh lyric, soothing sounds and ethereal vocals on this latest project. From the opening lyric: “God on a cross. Who would have thought it? This place looks nothing like Eden.” To the soulful longing of the last track: “After everything I've had After everything I've lost Lord, I know this much is true I'm still drawn to You” Audrey delivers in every way. This is not a bubblegum, Jesus makes you happy, faith inspired album. This is real, raw, uplifting, and comforting journey. More than anything this is an album that walks alongside you as you meander your way through this life to the next.

Audrey voice is amazing in this album. Her songs brings healing, peace and joy to all those that listen to them. She seems to be gifted not only in her musical talents, but also in comunicating Christ healing to those who listen to her music.
  • Spots of sunlight on a shadowed path, set to music

Audrey has an incredible gift of putting her insides out without being narcissistic, wrestling through doubt and faith but making Jesus center-stage. Her signature atmospheric sound has a way of being either soothing background or totally gripping depending on where your heart and mind are. The last cut, "Drawn to You," takes its place with "Restless," "Good to Me," and "New Every Morning" as one of her all-time, melting best.

I've been a fan of Audrey for a long time, but this record is something special, especially for me as someone whose been going through a similiar journey of doubt and reunderstanding faith. I've always appreciated Audrey's open and honest journey with God, and this album is a beautiful reflection of this.
  • Darker Tones

What drew me to Assad was the contemplative quality of her music and how it could so easily accomppany prayer. This new album is more dark and doleful--more suited to a spiritual trial or healing from a trial. Her voice sounds a bit more coarse or mournful than in previous albums, perhaps because of the need to express a darker mood with lower notes. This is my least favorite when compared with her earlier releases--Fortuante Fall and The House You're Building. There is more background experimentation--added sounds and other voices. I loved the first two albums so I am a fan, but this is not something I would listen to all the time. It may well suit a time of struggle, so I don't think it was a wasted purchase.
  • Exceeded my (very high) expectations

I’ve been looking forward to new original material from Audrey for a very long time, and what she has produced has blown me away. It reflects maturity and growth in her vocal performance (especially in her lower register), the variety of sonic landscapes, and lyrical subject matter. Many of these songs are hard-won and reflect the journey of years of healing and transformation she has experienced internally and her social and political journey in conjunction with that. In many ways it feels like her most personal album yet, and I’m grateful for her honesty and vulnerability. My personal favorites on the album are “Evergreen”, “The Joy of the Lord”, “Irrational Season”, and “When I See You” - though to be honest it’s hard to choose!

I was so excited for this album and it's so, so good. Audrey's songs continue to give me the ability to feel authentic instead of fake when I'm singing Christian music (to be honest, she's pretty much the only Christian artist I listen to voluntarily). "Drawn to You" is probably my favorite. "No clear emotions keeping me safe at night / Only Your presence like a candlelight"--I just get it, so much.
