Where is the rest of Hemisheres Book II ?? Just a tease with 53 seconds of the finale...One of Rush's greatest epic songs...Sorry, but that does not cut it with this Rush fan...A disappointment for all Rush fans !!!
  • Studio album (lack of?) remixing

One comment on the studio album: the sound quality is not much better than my rip of a 1980s era CD master of Hemispheres. I did a comparison of them with headphones and there isn't a ton of difference. Surprisingly, a sharp cut at the end of Part I of Hemispheres' fadeout is still there (around 4:30). I haven't checked my vinyl to see if it's there in the original (analog) mastering, but hearing it on a new package is kind of disappointing. Was it not possible to remix this and take out stuff like that, or was the flaw in the original tapes? It's nice having a digital copy of the Pink Pop show at least, flaws and all -- it beats the bootleg.

We don’t get the live version..only 53 seconds..I’ll be passing on this and stick to last remaster

It feels funny to leave a negative review for a Rush release. Here goes... Hemispheres itself is, of course, a five-star experience. Zero complaints there! The concert choice is a bit strange. Having listened to the Detroit/December 1978 bootleg for years, I feel like you really need By Tor, Cygnus Book I, Cygnus Book II in its entirety, and definitely La Villa Strangiato and 2112, preferably all from the same show. There are rules, basically...

All you people complaining, give it a rest, your not forced to purchase the album. It’s a 40th Anniversary remaster of the original album tracks, that’s what your getting here, anything else, just consider a bonus! I’m quite sure down the road the guys will release some really great unreleased gems. Geddy, Alex, and Neil never disappoint their fans. You have to look at this release in the context that it is, a great remaster of some excellent Rush songs! So sit back and relax😉, put on the headphones, turn it up, and enjoy🤟

Should be a whole show. Not a chopped up show that’s been around bootleg circles for years. You’re better than this Rush.

I am definitely going to buy this! Although, yes, I agree that there should be a full live version of Cygnus X-1 book II. It would be really cool if the album was going to have unreleased sections/material from the songs like they did with Cygnus X-1 book 2A. Also it would be really neat if when they release the 40th anniversary edition of Permanent Waves they release the song Green Knight.

All we wanted was a live Cyngus X1 Book II, but get 2112 instead. How can they fail so badly?

Useless! This is about Hemispheres not 2112. Album cover gets the 1 Star.
  • What? No live version of Cygnus?

How can you possibly release this without a live version of Cygnus X-1 Book II Hemispheres?
