I’ve listened to a few of his songs over the years but when I saw his “Western Stars” film, I was blown away. I pulled the album on line and was convinced that I need to own a copy. It’s so beautiful and wonderfully made. His mellow sound just soothes my day. He’s a favorite now.

I love this side of Bruce. The music is calmed down, reflective, and soulful.

While western stars and Hello sunshine are excellent, too many forgettable songs. In no way does this compare to Ghost of Tom Joad or Nebraska or even Devils and Dust
  • Soulful western songs

The film is beautifully photographed and this concept album is as fabulous. Every song tells a story with beautiful back up orchestrations. You really get the sense of experience and maturity of Bruce’s years as a rock artist and you can feel the desert grit in these songs. Really love this album.

I’ve been a fan for 42 years. I’m continuously blown away how every project Bruce gives us is utterly unique from all the others. And none lack. This one is certainly different. And it’s beautiful, deep, heart-felt, as well as it stirs the soul. His voice at 70 is so pure and his delivery is emotional. Bruce’s musical IQ is incomparable. His singer / songwriter gifts are mind blowing. Western Stars is another magnificent work of art. Beautiful through and through. Thanks Boss.
  • A singer/songwriter/legend who has evolved with time

This album is beautiful and creative from the arrangements to the lyrics and singing. For those of you putting Bruce down: Most singer/songwriters are not vocally the same as they age and develop new lines of interest in their songwriting. He probably is not as interested in what he can do to top the pop/rock charts, but is writing from his heart and experiences in this life! Well done Bruce!

I live in a small town in South Dakota. I got the album as soon as it was complete. These are all good songs that only Bruce can write; Hardship, Loss, Renewal, and Redemption. Haters gonna hate, Critics are those that can't do something themselves. I play guitar and I know how hard it is to be on the road. These song go with me. MJ

This is a different side of the boss. People saying it is country. It is not country to me just an album of beautiful music and songs. Just saw the movie and thought it was just fantastic. Plays all the songs on the album in an old barn with an orchestra and band. Really gorgous.

I went to see the movie last night, and am buying the album today. If you heard Bruce’s dialog in the movie you could tell how much each of the songs were personal to him. Sure there is a little country flare to the album and not much rock and roll. Every artist matures through their performing years or they become the same old thing. It doesn’t mean this will be his style from now on. Just one more side to his talent. Using a string orchestra gave a interesting backdrop to the regular instrumentation. I can see the connection some have made to Glen Campbell but I see more of the later work of Johnny Cash. Great story telling.
