Expectations

This whole album is beautiful! Katie's voice is smooth as silk and the musical arrangements are wonderful! When I first listened to this album, I was totally drawn in. I kept repeating to myself, "Wow...!" Beautiful, sensitive lyrics, masterfully sung. The best album of ANY genre I have listened to in YEARS!

Her voice reminds me of Stevie Nicks. Soulful and feeling. What a great album

This young lady has an awesome voice that’s unique. Her music & songs tell a story, and I’m always excited to see where she takes us next.

I just caught the end of an interview on NPR and heard a bit of Georgia. I downloaded the album right away and was immediately in love. It reminded me of the first time I heard “Living with Ghosts” by Patty Griffin. I just played the album on repeat. That’s what I’m doing now with “Expectations”. I just put it on repeat and discover or feel something new with every listen. It’s also amazing that this kind of honesty probably wouldn’t have been possible 20 years ago. Long story short, this is the best album I have heard in a very long time. I’m excited to hear more from her, but for now, I’ll just listen to this album on repeat.

I hadn’t heard of Katie Pruitt until yesterday. I heard an interview and a few clips from ‘Expectations’ so I thought I’d check it out. Amazing piece of work - beautiful, rich music mixed with intriguing lyrics and Pruitt’s soaring and passionate vocals. I’ve played this album end to end and truly can’t get enough. It’s brilliant.

Katie’s vocals are haunting, beautiful, raw, and real, and her command of lyrical form is incredible. This album tells a love story that you can just tell draws from her real life, and she paints it so incredibly well between the lyrics and the singing and the instrumentation that you can almost feel exactly what she felt. It speaks to anyone who has never quite fit in, and will resonate with anyone who has ever known what love is like. It’s self discovery and self actualization and connection and just a wonderful portrait of life. I highly recommend it, and look forward to whatever comes next from her.

Wow! I listen to new music every Sunday on itunes, just waiting for the next great singer song writer. As soon as I heard Katie Pruitt, I knew I had found her. Love her sweet and strong, yet unique voice. She has a wonderful future ahead. Thank you Katie.

As soon as I heard the live acoustic stuff she released I was smitten. Her voice can be as soft as eiderdown, and as thunderous as Emily Armstrong at times. I hear Carlile in there, too, beautiful singing, the lyrics so generously personal and the opposite of oblique. Heartfelt stuff. The arrangements such a nice mix of folk and bluesy soft-rock forms. We have tickets for DC9 and this could be my small show of the year. Simply cannot wait.
