I’ve been a huge Eric Whitacre fan ever since I first heard Lux Arumque. Modern classical music is not always good, but Eric is in a class making music that will last for the ages. Certainly he and Morten Lauridsen will be remembered by future generations. “Sing Gently” is a piece that certainly triggers emotions. It is simply a piece of music that will allow the listener to feel peace and more. Disclaimer: I was part of the Virtual Choir.

Especially during these challenging and uncertain times, it’s important for musicians to have outlets and find inspiration to help the world find some peace and begin to heal. Thanks to Eric and his Virtual Choir brilliance, this amazing piece and the performance that you’ll hear provides hope in the darkness, connectedness in isolation, and beauty in the unknown.
