most bands can only come up with a couple good songs every now and then these days, or try to release cover songs that mostly disgrace the originals. this albums got 4 or 5 good heavy songs that have stayed in my main playlist since i put em there! these days that is really saying something.

I am a newer fan (20), and I got into this band because I heard The Clincher on Madden 05. I must say this album holds up very, very well. The album is like a smooth henessy; its got a fiery kick but its also smooth on the way down. You got some c r u n c h y riffs, but also some melodic parts that are like those from Toxicity from SOAD. I will remember self-destructor for the rest of my life, as it is one of my favorite songs ever.
The potential is always there....

Chevelle always have had the potential of making great music. Sometimes they show that potential in spades, such as on tracks like Self Destructor and Peach. The problem with most Chevelle albums is they are often front loaded and this one is no different. Other than the baffling inclusion of Sleeping in the Deep, everything through Peach is well worth the listen. After that the cd is pretty underwhelming in my opinion. This makes for a rather unbalanced listen and usually results in me shutting Chevelle cds off after the first half or so, which is unfortunate considering how capapable the band has proven itself to be at making great music.

They never stray away from their previous albums, they always stay true to their sound. They are so talented and incredible live in concert. I love this album and it’s one of my favorites & always will be.

Won’t lie for a while I wasn’t liking Chevelle like I did in the past. But this record totally delivers everything I’ve been missing in music. Sounds a lot like APC/Tool/pucifer and I honestly love it.
