This album is so beautiful. I love the songs The Book of Numbers, Harmony Road, and The Bells of St. Thomas. It’s calming and refreshing. These are not just radio hits or one hit wonders these are quality songs from a quality artist and album. Sting has a certain style to songs but if your a fan you don’t want to miss this album.

And I was like “is this a sting cover song?” Like I literally thought it was someone trying to recreate Stings voice. I understand he’s aging but this album is just plain awful. Don’t even get me started with song #2 “if it’s love” ..I laughed so hard tears were coming out of my eyes. What is this?!

Sting has never shyed away from a challenge, and in this case, I think he and Dominic Miller challenged themselves to create a collection of stories and introspective musings that were both complex in their arrangements, while at the same time, being stripped to soul-bearing simplicity. It's obvious he was not going for hooks on the Bridge (save for a nod to his past in Rushing Water) and it works beautifully. You'll find yourself wanting to play it again and again to uncover with every spin, more musical and lyrical nuance. Like a fine Tuscan wine, Sting's musical talent has aged most gracefully.

I was a massive Sting fan back in the day. LOVED LOVED LOVED his solo work in the 80s and 90s. Saw Sting at the Hollywood Bowl on his birthday many moons ago and that was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. With the exception of The Last Ship however his music of the last 20 years just hasn’t clicked with me for whatever reason. But this album seems like a return to form. Hooray! Really enjoying it. Guess I’m back on the Sting train!

If you think of the time period that included Sting’s The Soul Cages, Ten Summoners Tales and Mercury Falling and crafted an album that has echoes of all of those albums you would have The Bridge. The songs are shorter and maybe not as cinematic as his earlier work (the details here are much more subtle)but it’s very enjoyable. You can hear references to Fortress Around Your Heart, This Cowboy Song, even The Pirates Bride. Sometimes it’s just an instrument that sounds familiar and other times it’s a familiar theme but either way it’s a welcome return.

Sting seems to have lost some of his vocal range, most likely due to aging. This is a decent effort but to me, solo Sting was best when he was more immersed in a jazz phase. The instrumentation and music on these don’t do much to compliment his vocals as they did on other albums in the past.

Now this is an awesome CHILL STING ALBUM that us old cats have been accustomed to from the past ! 2 sting albums in a row now “57th “ and this one .. no I don’t include the shaggy album the least bit.. for a 70 year old man.. Sting is still very much Sting ! If this is his last proper “chill Rock album “ I’m content !

I’m compassionate, frankly if his long span as a defined popularity. His revels, outplay an emotive confession. Surreal, subliminal, & characterizing of the importance to, dwell, design, & deviate against norms, the prospect is his problem we’re forever younger, then what we seem to become, it’s up to anyone, to forge delegation. “Loving You” & “If It’s Love”’Best tracks of the continuation, is singles serving as the follow up’s.
