This is one of the best albums to come out this year, moving me to tears.

This album is gorgeous. I especially love The Alcott. Reminds me of the work they did previously with Taylor Swift. Such a great blend of voices.

+3 stars b/c it's the national and I have some sense of brand loyalty. -1 star b/c the songs are adrift and go nowhere. (This is not a good album). -1 song b/c for some reason the Taylor Swift collab is the highest rated bad song on this album, which is a perverse version of brand loyalty.

i miss when matt would actually sing catchy melodies and write good lyrics. am i the only one that feels like this album is a whole hour of pretentious rambling? that’s all he did in every song was just ramble on and on. nothing from them has really hit my heart since TWFM

There really is quite nothing like this band’s music — from the stark, memorable lyricism to their fall-winter-spring rains trademarked soundscape. This new album is another unbelievable addition to their already impressive catalogue. Loving it!
