OK, while searching through some music just to find a few new things to listen to I happened to stumble upon this artist. Wow! great repoirtore and very broad as far as languages and sound goes :D. Btw I first heard Im Telech (good song) through an independent TV station called LinkTV.<3 Idan

Idan Raichel rox! My hebrew school teacher showed me this video and song and it was awesome! He is a good singer. It has a fantastico tune! The words are cool too! it's fun to sing along too:-)

I would recommend this album to anyone who likes WORLD music!!!!You don't have to speak Hebrew to appreciate the beauty of this music. I listen to it every day and can't get enough!!

I am very finicky about new music I listen to even though I have a very soft spot for world music. The sounds the Idan Raichel Project brings are quite different from each other with Arab, Jewish and African influences. Each piece may reflect a different influence but the flow of the album is quite meticulous and very harmonious to listen to. I cannot hep but go through various emotions as well when I listen to the music even though I don't understand any of the languages the songs are written in.
I was hesitant to buy the album considering the variety and spread of artists but I fell in love with it immediately. Absolutely one of my best muscial buys!

The Idan Raichel Project has some of the best music I've heard in a long time. Although it is an Israeli band, their music is from several cultures and is blended together perfectly. They sing most of their songs in Hebrew, and a few songs in other languages. Parts of Mima'amakim are in Ethiopian and Be'Yom Shabbat is in Yemenite. They have taken many parts of Israeli culture and brought them together to create an incredible sound. The album is great but I highly recommend seeing him in concert, as all of his songs are much better when performed live.

This really makes you wonder how many more brilliant "world music" artist are still hidden in obscurity. Great job on the concept of putting all these great voices on an album!! This is the kind of songs that compels you listen the first you you hear it..... then rewind and play it over and over again! Great work Idan!
