I’m here at the Warner Theater in DC. Marc Cohn just finished his set. Wonderful voice, wonderful lyrics, masterful pianist!

Back in the day, my late father and I would listen to this on cd everytime we went somewhere. We actualy managed to were it out and had to replace the dang thing. Now when I listen to it (expecially tracks 1 and 3) my mind goes back to those days and I can't help but think of my dad and wonder what he'd say if he could see me now.

My all time CD, not just of his, but of anyone's. that is saying a lot. Its like touching way deep into someone's deepest fears, hopes and love.

Marc Cohn opened for Bonnie Raitt last night at the Capital Theatre in Portchester NY and I'm buying his album this morning. Each song is better then the other and the fact that he does a duet with JT is icing on the cake

Marc Cohn is one of the most unappreciated singer/songwriters of his generation. This album is a beautiful debut album but the rest of his catalog is filled with gems you should listen to also.

I can't imagine a better "first" album. He's a great writer and his piano-playing and vocals are rich and emotive. "Walking in Memphis" and "True Companion" are stand-outs, but in truth, there is not a bad song on this album!
  • My all time favorite album!

I got this on cassette when it first came out 20 years ago. My kids and I would sing along to it in the car. It hold up so well. I am writing this review as I sit listening to Marc at a concert in Seattle. He still has it! What a great musician and song writer.

I've loved this song since it came out, but I swear the iTunes version is substantially faster than the version played a zillion times. Tone sounds the same. anyone else notice this, or am I nuts?
