  • ANTITHESIS OF MONOTONY

I'm 41 years old and was a kid in the 70's and 80's so I was an original fan of eletronica growing up. Dystopic click-hop lost me tho in the early 2000's and I felt like the old man complaining about those young whipper-snappers and there new fangled 'noise'. I was repulsed until Telefon Tel Aviv who seem to have taken my shattered and somewhat traumatized artists-soul perspective and held out a compassionate hand inviting me into the 'collapse'. The end is nothing to be feared. Its a dream that we can steer. An optimism behind the nightmare of imbalance and unexpected, gentle, safe, but not sterile or monotonous. I rarely make out the words but I know what they're feeling and I'm there. Dream on Telefon Tel Aviv!!!!

Completely Amazing. I've always loved Telefon Tel Aviv and now they finally have all of these songs together. I used to have to individually find them, but now they're all compiled. SWEET! <3

I was really surprised to find that I enjoyed this album. Usually I listen to rock music, but I found it difficult to work while listening to most of my library. This music, from this album, is insanely complex, but at the same time not distracting. It is great to study to, very relaxing. I originally got it as background music, but now i listen to it just for fun. Im surprised not many people have heard of these guys.

There's no explanation for how much I've come to love this album. It's an enthralling journey through music new and old, remixed by the masterminds of Telefon Tel Aviv. If you ever needed music to just -exist- to, this is the CD. You will sweep through all kinds of moods, and the world will take on a kind of mellow demeanor. Not many CDs change the way I walk from building to building, but this CD did it. Where I used to see rushedness, I see calmness. Where I saw a busy street, I see a movie-esque scene with background music overlayed. This is the kind of CD that changes environments. I wholly recommend this CD. Give the talent some much-needed appreciation by picking it up. Not a single song on here has disappointed.

It's about time..now i don't have to buy every single 12" remix. It's all digi and sounds light and crisp lows. I think i dig all there work before the 00's. Dont forget that they colab with A Perfect Circle and many other non-electro artists. If your new to the whole TTA, well i would cross them with Prefuse 73 (also Savath & Savalas etc.), John Hughes aka Slicker and Christ (one of the original members of Boards of Canada)... Listin..pass along..move on

Telefon Tel Aviv (TTA) are a young duo of musical geniuses. Underrated for sure. To prove the point, listen to the song "Stolen Moments." Originally a jazz song by Oliver Nelson. After you listen to it, look for the original here on iTunes. Point made!
  • A Great Compilation by Great Artists.

Whether you are a fan of orchestral, alternative, "indie," or dance music, Telefon Tel Aviv will find its way into your brain. Their mission statement is far-reaching and visionary: "Telefon Tel Aviv is approaching its eighth year in the unending endeavour to achieve the complete hybridization of music: formally, stylistically, and sonically. This attempt to quantify and qualify nostalgia in a physical sense will continue as Telefon Tel Aviv strives to reach this end, which seemingly cannot be met." It is goals like these that shape art and society. Without aims this high, progress would not be made in any field. That being said, this is a great collection of miscellanious remixes that the duo have done over the past few years. A wonderful listen.
