I've been following Sandra's career since I was a child. It makes sense; she was my babysitter. Throughout her albums she has developed and honed her style and voice. Coupled to her husband's rich vocals, this EP makes for a wonderful compilation of music and rythym that you'll be playing throughout the summer.

This is one you'll wear out. In six outstanding tracks from this former Caedmon's Call frontman and his wonderfully talented wife, DW & SMcC stretch some long awaited love-song muscles. Expect these tracks to show up in some hip TV shows like some of Derek's solo work has done. The only drawback is that songs this good (like the kind of love they are writing about) only leave you wanting more.
  • A Duet

This is a nice EP from Derek Webb and his talented wife Sandra McCracken. The music is a blend of folk and soft rock, accompanied by lyrics full of the love this couple shares. You get a nice amount of Dereks insightful/observant song wrinting, and it mixes well with Sandras relaxed style. The album starts of with Valentine, which sounds very similar to Emmylou Harris's song Tragedy. Next is When the Summer's Gone, which features mostly Sandra. Watch Your Mouth has Derek sining the lead with Sandra backing him up. When the Lights Go Out is more of a duet(which in a sense most of the song are.) If Not For You is a nice Dylan cover, and My Finest Misfortune ends the EP with Derek.

This album features former (and current) Caedmon's Call singer/songwriter Derek Webb and his singer/songwriter wife, Sandra McCracken. This is a great album full of songs written by two incredible songwriters with a strong bond of love between them. The honesty in these songs makes the lyrics meaningful almost immediately to anyone who has been married for an extended period of time. It is very easy to listen to, although if someone is looking for an introduction to Derek Webb's music, this might not be the best place to start.
  • A little bit Sandra, a little bit Derek

I pre-ordered this EP and really, really enjoy it. It's not as rocky as Derek's more recent stuff, but not quite as folksy as I find Sandra to be. These are really just breezy love songs, with more depth and tenderness than one usually finds. I really love all of these songs, I couldn't pick a favorite, though I find 'My Finest Misfortune' to be really lovely.
