Indeed my favorite album of Al's. If people take a good listen to this album they will come to realize Al is one of the best. "Across the Midnight Sky" is a gem.

I believe this album was my favorite. It seems like I won't be able to purchase this album again because ITunes realizes that I've already purchased it. I would like to purchase this album again.

My fave 2 songs are "Golden Girl" and "Give a little more Lovin'" It is too cool when Al leads into the bridge with " when you're glowing golden girl........" then a killer guitar solo kicks in. Then on "Give a little more Lovin' Al again trails off but this time he calls out to the guitar soloist, Hiram Bullock. Al sings: "Ohhhh Hiiiram (Hiram Bullock)......." and then the solo takes over.....very smooth and COOL stuff.....kinda rare to find new music like this anymore....Check IT out !!!! I was listening to this in mid 80's.....still love it.

I bought this CD in the late 80s and it's still a great album. No one sings like Al. What a high!

This was one of the first Al Jarreau albums that I bought and I have to say of all the albums he released, this is my "All Time" Favorite. There isn't a dud on this album. I felt this album was unfairly cheated of the recognition that it deserved. With production by Nile Rodgers and Al's vocal capabilities, they created an album that is hard to be ignored. Creative magic like this is something that you only see once in a while of an artist's career. I'm glad iTunes finally included this album because it gives the listener a chance to hear the versatility on Al's vocals in an R&B setting.
  • One of Al's best!!

I remember hearing his music when I was little in my Dad's car for 23 years. For those of you who enjoyed Jarreau's life's work, you should definitely buy his albums.

I have to disagree with the ITunes reviewer in that I feel the album just gets stronger with the higher numbered tracks...It really IS some excellent Jammin' Jazz. Even if u only know AJ's top 40 stuff, give this a listen and you'll be wanting the entire album.......
