I never write reviews ,but when over 50 of The National's songs were on my IPod I figured it was a sign. The National don't have one bad song! The live versions are great too! I highly recommend this band!

This band is amazing!! I would start with the album Boxer if you are newby, but all albums are...it's crazy they are all perfect. Every song is great. And if you don't give a song at least a 4 star at first, it'll end up being your favorite song after you listen to it a few time. I wouldn't be surprised if they put subliminal messages in the album cause I'm addicted.

It simply doesn't get better than this as far as albums as works of art go. Each piece is just as beautiful as the last, each a thread woven into a blanket you want to wrap yourself up in for the night. An essential. A must have. An affair you won't soon forget.

I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to for this band. Few people know about this band and it's a shame because they are one of the best bands around. It's like, a band, that is made out of real people, who write songs about real things, with real song structure. If you haven't ever listened to them, Boxer is a great album to start. This EP is a perfect addition to the rest of their music though. Somehow, these guys manage to have a consistent sound that never gets old.

A fantastic EP. As of right now, this is the only way to download live versions of any songs by The National on iTunes, and their live versions are more than worth the price. Better still? There are even new songs to sweeten the deal, not to mention that the new songs are wonderful on their own. When new music takes a backseat to live recordings, it's clear those live recordings are something special. All I can ask for are more live recordings. I've seen The National live 3 times and I'm floored every time by what a great show they put on and how the manage to change their music to fit the occasion. For future reference, look for Abel, Squalor Victoria, Baby We'll Be Fine, and Mr. November if / when they are released live.

The National are phenomenal. Forever After Days, Lucky You, Slow Show (Live), Santa Clara. These are some of my favorites from this album. If you have not heard them before try listening to "Fake Empire". They will grow on you, and you'll just keep coming back for more.
  • Great as usual.

Any fan of The National will want to check this out. It's what we've come to expect and enjoy from such an awesome band. The live version of About Today is great.

I cant remember the last time I listened to one band almost exclusively for such an extended period of time. If you ever have the chance to see them in any type of small venue, take advantage. Another great album!

I couldnt believe my ears, and the DVD only reinforced how it is they work, how meticulous they are as a group- and the live tracks are insane i bought tix to the show at the greek theatre in san fran immediately upon hearing it when i listen to them, it takes the best of explosions in the sky and God Speed and adds the most hypnotic melodies lyrics and overall vox- layered, dense the demos are a good listen- this is highly recommended for fans but not for those who plan to take their first gander at what all the fuss is about
