ok, so not my favorite version of the annie soundtrack but still pretty good if you want a better one try and find the disney version becasue in my humble opinion i think its better, but all the artists here are very talented and i think they do well at what they do. i don't like annies voice as much tho...
  • An acceptable adaptation with an ok cast and good singing

Buy it... If you are left unsatisfied with the 1999 Disney adaptation of the musical and seek a more traditional version of the classic broadway musical. Avoid it... If you are satisfied with the 1999 Disney version and do not want more overexaggerated singing especially in the part of Annie. Though it has its moments, this adaptation is surprisingly lacking both in talent and production. The obviously undersized orchestra coupled with the big ACTOR manorizms makes an OK listening expirience. It did not blow me away like the Disney 1999 version, however it makes for interesting listening and will delight any hard core fan of the musical. The small composition of the orchestra is really obvious in "Overture" and perfomances in "Maby" and "N.Y.C" are just a little short of spectacular. All in all a OK experience and an OK performance. Though a great album it should not generate a lot of attention in the long run. ***
  • Annie CD - a rare gem

An enjoyable cd and a collectors must. Four historical "Annie's (Andrea McArdle (1st Annie on Broadway), Marissa O'Donnell and Amanda Balon (30th anniversary Broadway Tour) and Kathryn Zaremba (Annie Warbucks) sing individually and together. All do a remarkable job. Little Amanda Balon (10 years old) tugs at the heartstrings in her beautiful rendition of "All I need is me". Those fortunate enough to catch this seasoned pro on stage will recall a brilliant actress with a vocal belt ten times her size. The entire 30th anniversary cast, plus, is truly captivating on this double CD. Carol Burnett, narrates as Hannigan while Kathie Lee Gifford is a hoot in "Don't mess with mother". Shelly Burch, who sang as "Grace" on disc 2 has one of the strongest, most beautiful voices I have ever heard. This CD is fresh and fulfilling. Sentimental and novel. It is one of its kind in that it includes the entreacts, prologues and interludes. Annie fan or not, this CD is bound to entertain those of all ages through many tomorrows to come.

This was pretty cool to listen to seeing as I personally know one of the people in it (Tessie/Casey Whyland) But all together this was a great group :D

Annie is a musical that has been seen pretty much everywhere in America, and yet the songs never get old! Come on, who doesn't like to hear "Tomorrow" or "It's a Hard-Knock Life?" There are some really fantastic hits in this album, many of them must-haves for the ipod fanatic! With Annie (The Broadway Musical 30th Anniversary Cast Recording), THE SUN WILL COME UP TOMORROW!

Marissa doesn't sound at all like Annie and sounds like one of Alvin and the Chipmunks!!! Her voice sounds a little computerized if you ask me....
  • Annie still has it!

Even after all these years, Annie's charm and wit is still there! I loved this CD, and the Annie 2 part was interesting, also.
