I was not familiar with Julieta Venegas, but was immediately enraptured when I came across selections from her MTV unplugged performance while channel surfing my local TV stations.
This is an excellent introduction to Venegas for those who don't know her music because the set includes songs from her earlier albums. But what also stands out here is her expert musicianship and her generosity towards the musicians and guest artists that appear with her.
Some of the songs, especially "Me Voy" are examples of pop genius, happy and infectious.
I was so happy to have discovered this talented singer and musician, and happily recommend her to others.

I first heard Julieta here in town (Tijuana) over 10 years ago. I didn't liked her or what I heard. Time has passed, she's gotten better and I've become more receptive to her music. Now I look for her every time I want to hear something that will leave me happy or sad or whatever. She's able to stir emotions or memories (or whatever). Love it when she sings with other great Latin American singers/composers. I still think the accordion may not be a good idea (whatever).
