  • Soul fly keeps getting better!

I was patient for the first couple soul fly cds hoping for something heavier like the supultura work max was on. After the Prophecy cd release, I gave up on them until hearing dark ages, and this cd. Since the CAVALERA CONSPIRACY project, Max is settting out on a heavier track. If you like the old supultura ways, your gonna love this CD. Lets hope in the future every soul fly cd will be like this!

Not their best work overall, but still has that Soulfly sound we all love. All I can say is Rizzo is one bad dude.Saw him live one night in Texas at a small club and the guy can shred metal like noone's business.

    By me, deal with it
Woooooow...I'm just recently getting into Max's work, and damn. How the hell did it take me so long? All his bands are amazing. A Manson cover? Wow! Very ambitious.

I love how Cavalera's albums just seem to sneak up on me when I least expect it walking through the CD section. It defenitly sounds like he went with some of the more punk-like sound that he uses on Cavalera Conspiracy, which although as someone said sounds forced, just makes it all the more outrageous. Every song is brutal and fast, as it should be, hell the cover art should be indicator enough. Personally I like the one with the dude with eight arms better than the cover with the temple of skulls, but it's all good.
  • Better than Dark Ages but Lacking

After listening to this album a few times, front to back, I have to say that this album is definetly better than Dark Ages. However, the first four tracks, as a previous reviewer pointed out, seem like they came off the Dark Ages Album as extras. A lot of their material as of late seems sort of forced, like they're trying to squeeze into the genre of Thrash/Metal/Metalcore. I truly enjoyed previous albums like self-titled Soulfly and Primitive. If you're an avid Soulfly fan, this is great addition to your collection and a rightful place on the shelf and in your stereo. If you're looking for something that fits the bill of hardcore, I suggest looking elsewhere. There are far better bands in those categories.
