I have always enjoyed Derek Webb's music (Sandra's husband), but I wasn't drawn to Sandra until this compilation of songs. "Lose You" is featured on the Paste CD Sampler for November 2008. All of the songs speak from the heart, and they are so refreshing to hear again and again! After listening to this album, I also bought Love Gravity (Sandra's second-most recent album).

I saw her on the Art Music and Justice Tour - this CD has the same type of feel, cozy and intimate, like a concert in your living room. If I had to choose one song to buy individually: Lock and Key. The whole album is really great, though.

Red Balloon may be Sandra's best record yet. You can read on her website how Sandra's approach to writing and recording this album was far different from anything she has done before. The result is a collection of songs filled with emotion and honesty captured in the early stages of recording. Sometimes you just can't duplicate it... Red Balloon is a triumph! I can't stop listening to "Lock and Key".

I think this album is Sandra at her best. If you ever get the chance, see her live (and catch a show when she performs with her husband Derek Webb if you can).
