A friend reccomended this band to me. I bought 2 songs. One of them was "the very best" on this and the other was from their album. The one from their album is okay, but this one was horrible.

If you're here, chances are you already own their self-titled album. I thought Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa was a pretty good song on the album, showcasing a more Paul Simon, African-esque side of Vampire Weekend, and I've heard some remixes of the song online. But the 'Very Best' Remix? Dare I speak heresy and say it's better than the original? Heck, that's not even really fair, it's practically an entire different song (just listen to the preview). It's very rare a remix takes such a different road with a song, but here the effect is quite good.
new favorite band? i think so(:

so Ive never written a review before but Im gonna take a stab at it. This band is the most talked about band ive ever really heard of. I mean I first heard then playing on fuse with their song a-punk then later found that the bass player was my friend jessica's cousin. Its really a great song. Their sound at least in this song is very indie alternative with a good almost carribbean beat to it when it comes to the percussion beats. I know it sounds werid with the bongos and all but they pulled it off. really you should give this song a try then try the rest of their songs they will honestly become your next favorite bandd

As my title states, I feel this song is relaxing but still shows the confidence of vampire weekend in their ability to make quality music.
