I thought the movie was absolutely fantastic, a real classic. I think the music is great if you are watching the movie. Just to listen to it it doesn't sound good. Everyone who is singing is off key and off pitch. They kind of can't sing. In the movie Rosalind Russell and Natalie Wood were fantastic with acting. Believe me, they'll entertain you, and you'll have a real good time.

To 777MI... true, Lisa Kirk did dub Roz and her vocals are front and center on these recordings, but the actual film soundtrack has much of Roz's own voice. More than a few songs start out as Roz and then Lisa takes over to the tougher notes. HOWEVER... the track Mr. Goldstone on here is 100% Roz! You can tell because of the rough edges and the live sound. Also, in the movie much of Rose's Turn was spoken and that was all Roz. You can hear in the movie the place where Lisa comes in. I guess for the official soundtrack release they went with mostly Lisa's vocals.. but Roz sings in the movie more often than these tracks make you think. Also... the last 3 tracks 20-22 are actually Rosalind Russell... iTunes please correct!

This movie was my first exposure to Broadway musicals, movie musicals, and the world of burlesque. To finally hear the recordings from this movie, especially Natalie Wood's version of "Let Me Entertain You" is indeed a showstopper. I do hope that Apple & iTunes decide to bring this movie as part of its librrary.
