The Crusade (Bonus Track Version)

i thought it was great

I thought i was the only one who thought this album had a metallica sound to it. Guess not

Unlike their other music

"The Crusade" is an excellent album that explores modern issues through allegory. They use heinous criminal acts to preach at the world for its injustices. This makes most of the songs into lyrical masterpieces, but there are a few radio-worthy pieces like "The World Can't Tear Us Apart" and "Anthem (We are the Fire)" (They would have to edit that one though.) The guitar work on this album is mind boggling. And they really play that good! And sing harmonies! And they do it live, unlike many other artists in the same genre. They have (rightfully) been compared to Metallica for "The Crusade", and it does sound like stuff from "Ride the Lightening." And there is an all instrumental track. Does that sound familiar? The most glaring thing on this album to long-time Trivium fans is the lack of screamed vocals. This time, they just didn't do it. They sang. And they sang well with harmony. There is also a seven string guitar here and there, which is a departure as well. (Shoot. they already did an awful lot with only six!) The best tracks on this album for me have to be "The Sadness will Sear" "Detonation" and "The Crusade." Many would say "Entrance of the Conflagration," (which was released on the radio) but the subject matter hurts my soul too much. Just the same, I almost always listen to an album all the way through, and that song fits very well with the rest of the material. I highly recommend this album to adults and Metal fans.

I loved this album because it is truly awesome. My favourite song is " Anthem (We Are the Fire)" on this album. This album smashes you in face with amazing guitar riffs and thunderous drum beats that is deliciously enjoyable from the first to the last. I highly recommend this album to people who want to sink their teeth into Pure Sweet Juicy Metal.

This is intermently godly

Most people say that this was Triviums weakest album. I completely disagree for many reasons. One it sounds nothing like Metallica to me, it has my favorite song by them "This World Can't Tear Us Apart", many more reasons. Also I just saw them live on the 11th and they played the best show I have ever seen. I met Matt Heafy and he is a cool person and not what you expect. So 15/10 for this album and the band. <3

I think that The Crusade was an excellent album. Some people say that it sounds like Metallica too much. Hello, Trivium's biggest influence was Metallica, ofcourse they will write music that inspired them thats what everone does. Though I dont think the album sounds nearly as close to Metallica as everyone claims, it is only because there is no scream that people even make this accusation.

Alot of people said that this album sounded to Metallica-esque, personally I never saw that many similarities. Heafy has far stronger and more dominating vocals than Hetfield, the drums are, well, let's face it, well above anything Ulrich seems capable of, the bass is almost on par with bass God Steve Harris of Iron Maiden putting it far above any bass work Metallica has ever had, and the guitar is too melodic, fast, and neat to be compared to Metallica. Oh, and this is coming from someone who actually favors Metallica OVER Trivium. But inspite of all my arguements the bonus tracks will be untouchable for haters trying to drag the band down, as they have no similar sounding pieces by anyone, Broken One delivers melodic perfection with vocals ranging from soft operatic to Heafy's own growling voice, and Vengeance kicks up the pace with faster guitar work and even some of the screaming that was missing on this album.

NO there's no difference between this version of The Crusade and the other version. Except two obvious changes. If I'm correct, "Broken One" was an ALBUM ONLY track before. It was also a pre-order track. Now it's come back as a single song you can add by itself. Another added bonus that just amazed me is that they finally got "Vengeance". I have to thank you ITunes for FINALLY getting this track. It seems like I've been waiting forever for you guys to atleast get the Anthem (We Are The Fire) single. Now you guys don't have to. While the album without the bonus tracks rocks alone, with these two bonuses that are thankfully NOT album only tracks it just makes the album even better than was. So I suggest you guys get these songs before ITunes changes their minds. Again. Thank you ITunes for getting Vengeance. This song ROCKS!
