American Pathwork is easily Anders' strongest album as of the date of this review. "Meet Me in New Mexico" and "On the Road to Charlie Parker" are two incredible songs and there really is no weak link on the entire album. Alligator Records appears to be a great fit for Anders as the follow-up album, Black Eye Galaxy, is also a fantastic album. Looking forward to Osborne's future work. Recommend you check out all of his earlier work as well.

Been a fan of Anders Osborne for years. This is a GREAT album mixing Rock and New Orleans blues very nicely. His songwriting and playing keeps getting better.

I can't stop listening to this album. Very powerful songs - he's a tremendous songwriter and a force live. I caught him at the Cheasapeake Bay Blues Festival and he amazed everyone. He damn near brought several thousand people to an absolute stand-still when he played "Standing with Angels". Buy this album and go see this guy in person - you won't regret it.

Anders Osborne's latest release shows his versatility as a musician and skill as one of today's top American songwriters.(OK, he's really from Sweden, but America is now his home). Evolving from the Louisiana sounds of his 2002 CD "Bury the Hatchet", to the stripped-down soulfulness of his previous CD "Coming Home", his releases vary in style but are consistently terrific. This one is no exception, and it's an all-out rocker. Anders channels his recent experiences with personal demons into a strong collection of guitars and grit. I had a chance to see him live twice last week: once in a small club, the other at an outdoor festival as a lead-in to Galactic and Pearl Jam. His energy (with the Stanton Moore Trio as his band) filled both venues and had the crowd on its feet both times. A great CD, even better when seen live.

With this much anticipated studio release, legendary live performer Anders Osborne, does not dissapoint. With piercing guitars, heart wrenching vocals, and lyrics that speak directly to the soul, "American Patchwork" is a must buy and destined to become a classic.

too bad itunes gives you zero details on this album, stanton moore on drums, robert walter on organ, pepper keenan on guitar and vocals. One person commented anders being a new orleanian... he is from sweden and lives in new orleans.....
