From cassette to cd to download, this collection is priceless. Worth getting the other collections in the set as well: O Samba, etc.

I love this album, I remember visiting my grandmother in Sao Paulo, getting this cassette as a present and then never turning the walkman off...that's right I said walkman : ) Totally worth buying if you want to listen to Brasilian music Give it a try!

I bought this back the 80's. I still play it today. I have introduced many friends to these fresh sounds and rhythms. I think David Byrne collected the best of Brazil and then made sure it had enough variety of sounds and beats to keep you moving. I was so taken with this music and that I began a journey of exploring not just Brazilian music but music from across the world. For this I am thankful.

I am so happy to find this album again! A friend made me a tape of this years ago and I fell in love with it. My tape was starting to decay and I went looking for the CD awhile back unsuccessfully. Now I can enjoy it again. It is so joyful and uplifting...my heart is dancing and singing. I love every song...a treasure for sure!

As stated in another review, this is a fantastic start toward discovering the rich Brazilian sound. This is one of those perfect albums that has affected my tastes, leading me toward Thievery Corporation, Seu Jorge, and many other modern awe-inspiring musicians.

I was a big Talking Heads fan and bought this album when it first came out. All the tracks were great but some just floored me. I thought to myself "What culture could produce such beautiful music?" I was so enthralled I moved to Brasil for several years. This album is just the tip of the iceberg my friends but you must start somewhere.

hey, a little backround on this, david byrne (of talking heads fame) went down to Brazil and compiled some of his favorite local brazlian music. what comes out is a killer collection that displays a wide spectrum of brazilian music.

I first heard this album in the late 1980's and it immediately ignited a love affair with Brasilian music that continues today. All of these artists are worth exploring. Thank you David Byrne!!!!!
