  • Keep Mudvayne Out Of It

A couple things: 1. Mudvayne is incredible. I can't stand it when people gripe about 'Oh, LD 50 was sooo much better,' or 'They could have been great.' Don't you get it? They made it! They are amazing and better than any other band in my opinion because their style has changed over time and its always interesting. Think about it. If everything was like LD 50, you would get very bored of Mudvayne quickly. Sure, LD 50 & Lost and Found are heavier than say, The New Game, but they are all superb in their own respect. If you can't stick with Mudvayne throughout their musical career and its changes, then you aren't really a fan. And speaking of The New Game, the album title should be enough to tell you, 'Hey, this is gonna be different'. 2. Don't bring Mudvayne into Hellyeah. Chad is a different guy now. All of the members are. Hellyeah, is more groove and 'laid back', if you will, than songs like IMN, TEATC, Dig, Internal Primates Forever, etc. They bands are separate and represent separate phases in Chad Gray's lyrical and musical journeys. 3. This album is a great follow up to the first one. Debt That All Men Pay, Order the Sun, Stampede, Better Man, and Hell of a Time are some highlights.
  • Solid Sophomore Album

If you like it heavy then this album is for you. Chad's vocals have never sounded better and Vinnie just makes everything golden. It's impossible not to bang your head during "It's On" or "Stampede". Even if they weren't already a supergroup, Hellyeah would have made a name for themselves in the world of heavy metal.

I gotta say that Chad has really come a long way from the L.D. 50 days. This band really is the reason why he's regressed so much as a lyricist and is also the reason why mudvayne is nothing like what it used to be and what it could've been. Anyways, the first album was better than this by far. It's just too plain with absolutely nothing original. Every song sounds the same.
  • Fun Southern Fried Party ...

Great next chapter in the Hellyeah book of Rock, maybe a lil less brash as the debut , but still enough of it in the mix to keep your blood pressure rising along with our thirst for fun and ice cold beverages!!! , Tunes such as "Cowboy Way", "It`s On!","Stampede" & "Pole Rider" and the rest are saturday nite turn it up to 11 and get a bon fire started and have a Bottoms Up night !!!
  • Good follow-up for a second album.

I like this bands style and direction in music "straight-forward, with hard and heavy riffs"

shhuan this album is better than anything mudvayne has ever put out the sooner you realize that mudvayne has always sucked the better off you'll be by the way being in a band with Vinnie Paul is not considered selling out simply because he is the best drummer in metal

I was one that heavily anticipated the first Hellyeah album and was not disappointed. When I heard they had a second one coming out, I was overjoyed. After about 5 or 6 spins, I decided to give it a review. It seems very polished and meticulously written and recorded. The thing I really liked about the first album is it sounded like a whole bunch of great musicians getting together, having a whole lot of alcohol and just letting it rip while recording. This album lacks that intensity. One the plus side, the songs are fun and easy to get into. Any one of these songs could have been interchanged with the first Hellyeah album in terms of sound, but not feel or emotion. Overall a good, solid album worth buying and worth listening to, just don't expect that raw intensity of the first album to carry over to this one.
