This was a huge dissapointment at first listen, so much so that I put it away not to listen again until just recently. Man am I glad I gave it another try. I'm still not sure about the singles, I'm not a big fan of "Cowboy Way" although that's mostly because I think that's more of a regional attraction. I like "Hell of a Time" but think it could have been much better if they took it a bit more seriously (I know, there just having fun, that's why I still like it) and see why some people don't like it. Although the lyrics are a little too repetative, "Better Man" is still a very good song. What makes this album 4 stars for me is the less talked about tracks. "Stand or Walk Away" is the highlight of the album for me, I can't beleive I missed this song the first time around. "It's On" is a really good heavy song (for me this was this album's "Matter of Time") and "Order The Sun" is another highlight.

Yes it is and it's also mudvayne's guitarist, panteras drummer, damageplans bassist, and rebel meets rebels guitarist. So basiclly its super- supergroup cuz of the dudes from mudvayne and pantera. Anyway this album is alright, I like their first album better.
  • Good album, bad mastering...

This is a great followup to their original release. I like the band, and I like the music, but they should find another studio. Some of the recordings are grainy and poorly mixed. Other than that, a smashing success. The lyrics are well written, and the instrumentals are an excellent example of what metal should be. My two favorite songs on the album are Better Man, and Hell of a Time.

Basically I feel this album was made to be played in strip clubs. Nothing really that interesting going on here at all. Very simple song structures, no insane musicianship, pretty cut and dry stuff. This is something you play when your out with your boys, not something you listen to for artistic expression. But I feel thats all this band wanted to be in the first place, just a party band nothing more.......but when the hell did chad become a cowboy?.....whatever.

I Loved hellyeahs first album it was awesome every song was a hit hell, "in the mood", "Thank You", and "Star" were played at my wedding but sorry to say it this CD is crap. I feel they rushed this CD to try and hit while the iron is hot persay. Waist of time and money.
  • Awesome!!!

Do not compare this album to Mudvayne, Pantera, or Nothingface, Hellyeah is a completely different monster. Let me start by saying God bless 2010 for giving us so many great metal albums and this album is by far in my top 5 every track holds it's own and is meant to be played very loud it is definitely one that gets better with every listen as with most great albums I do wish it had more tracks though. I highly recommend buying Stampede it will not disappoint
