But I'm young and stupid an I only like some of the songs which is why it gets 4 stars. But take my word for it, at the very least, get "Wake up Everybody" you won't regret it.

When you put an artist as talented and versatile as John Legend with a band as amazing as The Roots, there is no way you can lose. Having been a huge fan of both, I was amazed at how this album even surpassed my expectations. Don't buy a song or two off this album....buy the whole thing. Its a perfect blend of hip hop and soul, of grit and smoothness, of old school and new school. A must-own for anyone who considers themselves a fan of either artist, or music in general for that matter.

This album is both creatively and sonically refreshing in that the artists took sounds of yesteryear and made them completely modern and relevant. The Roots remain one of, if not the MOST prolific bands I've heard while John Legends' vocals are once again on point. Those dissing the record seem to me as though they are not in touch with the fact that most of these songs are covers redone with a new twist. Any music lover( multi genre, old and new) will appreciate this album. A must listen to those who know music, not what the charts tell them to like.

The album is RIDICULOUS! It is hands down the funkiest thang out right now, and this is REAL music. Horn section and everything. No auto tune or any of that BS. Anybody who doesn't feel this album knows absolutely nothing about music, or what's going on in the scene right now.
