I love the unique way switchfoot expresses their talent through amazing songs and amazing shows. This album just shows that character that they have as a let's just say "a switchfoot".

I have seen Switchfoot live several times and I've noticed that the songs on this itunes session are recorded kind of like how they are played live. So they have a live music feel, without the usually annoying crowd and not studio quality sound and such. It's noticeable especially in songs like "the Sound." I love his heavy breathing and scream right before the guitar solo. And the added shredding at the end of the song really adds a nice touch and show's off some of Drew Shirley's guitar skills. Anyway, buy it, it's totally worth every penny!

This is a great album for any Switchfoot fan. Each track has a new spin on it and brings something new to the table. "Learning to Breathe" opens with a slightly heavier guitar intro, something that alters the song slightly but still keeping the same old charm. "Meant to Live" brings an extended intro that brings out the tension and anger in the song better than the original did; and the famous riff is even louder and more distorted. "Mess of Me" also has even more distortion and gains the same benefits of "Meant to Live", gaining a whole new level of tension, uncertainty, and aggression. "Dare You to Move" opens unplugged, with a single guitar playing the famous riff. It's a bare bones rendition, revealing the base emotions of the lyrics and the beauty in Jon's voice. "The Sound (John M. Perkins' Blues)" opens with the music video's new intro riff and like "Meant to Live" and "Mess of Me", features an increased distortion on the guitars, as well as Jon's voice. While one would think that after a while all this added distortion would get old, it just becomes familiar and comfortable. This is a side of Switchfoot we don't always get to see. "Your Love Is a Song" opens with a slow, cello piece before the drum riff comes in with acoustic guitars in place of the previous plugged-in sound. This alters the song to become more real and full of the love clearly stated in the lyrics. "Daisy" is the only song that has the least amount of changes made to it. The guitar just sounds a little louder and stronger on the chords, which is a bit of a letdown compared to all the other tweaks made to the other tracks. "Only Hope" is a quieter take of the fan favorite, breathing new life into the old classic. All in all, this is an excellent album and well worth your $7.99. My only qualm is that most of the songs are either their hits or off of "Hello Hurricane"; I would prefer more songs off of "New Way to Be Human" or other lesser-known albums. Defnintely buy this album if you have any love for Switchfoot.

Switchfoot has such an awesome sound! I'm loving the iTunes session. I love how they have both older and newer songs on here. I love how they changed things up with the songs. They changed the old stuff up a lot. It really shows how much they've matured musically as a band. Sounds great! Definitely worth the buy!
