  • THE BEST EVER

Now I maybe only 11 but this album has already changed my life and so has Bruce. For the past few years this album has been changing my life and probably other people too. I listen to at least one song on the album almost every single day now and I can’t get enough. First of all “Prove it all Night” is the best song on here without a doubt the guitar, Sax, and lyrics really make it what it is. “The Promised Land” which I’ve probably heard one million times still have not got tired of it, these lyrics, guitar, and sax really make the song Amazing like “Prove it all Night.” And I just can’t mention this song without mentioning the masterpiece movie “Blinded by the light” this was one of the best movies I had ever seen. There is one more Amazing song I did not mention that is “Badlands” which is such a great great song, this song always gets stuck in my head and I love it. Badlands is probably the best opening to an album ever. Now I recently watched “Prove it all Night (Phoenix, 78) [From the Thrill Hill vault]” this video was the best live performance I have ever saw! It starts out with an amazing guitar solo intro that had me on the edge of my seat. Then after that the song started, Springsteen looked so young and played that guitar so well, Clarence also had that amazing saxophone part in the song well he did it better in concert with his killer solo. To sum it up, this album had changed my life and is the best album ever Thank you, Springsteen for giving us this masterpiece!

This album reminds me of hot summer nights with high school friends. Sadly, those times have ended now but this music’s impact will forever linger on.

This is Bruce at his best. The songwriting, the melodies, and everything in between. This album in my opinion nudges out tunnel of love for his best work. If you want music that will stick with you forever, you’ve found a diamond in this album.

I bought this album at 16 when it was released. I will only listen to it on the original vinyl, so I can't say how it sounds digitally, but I've been listening to this album off an on for almost 40 years now (knock wood, still no pops or scratches). I am not a Bruce fan. Years ago, I went to a concert with friends, they were my ride or I would have left. This album, though, yeah, this album. There's nothing else like it!
  • THIS ALBUM CHANGED MY LIFE...

DARKNESS ON THE EDGE OF TOWN has so much metaphor to absorb that it makes you wonder about what exactly was rolling through Bruce's mind when he was writing this masterpiece album...DARKNESS and THE RIVER are his absolute best!...My favorite track is PROVE IT ALL NIGHT because it was so hauntingly sad but hopeful at the same time. I ALWAYS HOPED THAT THE YOUNG LOVERS IN THAT SONG DID GET MARRIED AND LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!! I was born and raised in a north suburb of Detroit, and I always preferred Springsteen to Bob Seger. His earlier material was great, but this departure from that style was a revelation for me, and I connected to it. I was a young, teenaged loner girl when I first saw this album and bought it. I must confess that I gazed back into Bruce's eyes on the album cover each and every time I played this record...I felt that I connected with his soul...My entire background (family, religion, upper-lower class social standing, loneliness, hopefulness for the future) almost mirrors Bruce's own background...we even share the same September 23 birthday!!! Thank you, Bruce. I LOVE YOU!!!
  • I know. He hates that sound.
