Shools out is one of the bands best. The title song has appeared in mutiple movies and is probably the bands most well known song. If you ask almost anybody, they came name who composed this song. I have followed Alice sine I was 8 years old and I'm 54 now and this is the band at its best. Public Animal #9 refers to his long lost band mate Glen Buxton (GB) a great Guitar Player. Its hard, it was grung before the Seattle Sound. Alma Mater takes us all back to the days of our youth in high school. Man what a time we all had. Alice has never been able to capture the sound of the original ALICE COOPER band. Who wouldn't Love to see a Alice Cooper Reunion Tour?? The Alice Cooper Band was way ahead of its time. Gutter Cat vs The Jets and Street Fight, Where do you think Michael Jackson got the idea for Beat It??? Alice and the Band set the stage for lots of band throughout the 70's 80's and 90's.

As a follow up to Killer, I found this album disappointing. Taken on it’s own terms, however, this album is quite good, though I hate two of the songs on the second half and think some or most of these songs are over arranged (if there is such a thing) and there is too much Bob Ezrin on it. Side one kicks butt, though, from the hard rock of the title track, to the underrated Luney Tune, the slightly dangerous Gutter Cats Versus The Jets (Glen Buxton’s only writing credit outside the group compositions) and the jazzy Blue Turk, a tune I hated at first but quickly came to love. The original album packaging is genius, though for the longest time I thought they showed only four band members in the picture inside. Good album, though I like the two albums that surround it much better.

    But I still love it.
  • Very good, just a little bit overrated as an album

Of course, the title track is an anthem and one of the most recognizable songs in rock history. It wasn't their greatest album, but is mostly remembered for that song. Other good one's are luney tune, gutter cat, public animal, and grand finale, which is a fantastic instrumental to close the album. Very good, but buy Love it to Death and Killer first.

I was 12 years old when I bought this album at White Front in South San Francisco. When I got home my grandparents wanted to hear it LOL! I opened the album and there were green girl's panties on the record. They didn't really get it, but I did. An amazing timeless album that sounds just as killer and creative today as it did the first time I heard it. YES, School's Out has been played to death... BFD, it still rocks and connects with each new generation that hears it. The Cooper band and Ezrin were a killer collab. So glad I grew up with this stuff.
