This is a great rendition. I'm very pleased that they are still collaborating even after their album

No, it's not as powerful or as epic as Arcade Fire's original version, but nothing ever will be. I think it's great that John Legend and The Roots are paying respect to another great band. If you let this version stand on it's own, it's a good chill song. You can't compare it to the original, but give it a chance.

Of course the arcade fire did it better, they were the originator. That's like saying the the beetles come together is better than michael jacksons version, that's no crap! what cover has ever been better than the original? Legend and the roots did it differently but that doesn't mean it's bad. Not one review gives reason why the cover version sucked. Everyone of u just likes to hear the click of your keyboard bc I'd bet money no one can give a legit reason why this version was no good. if you don't like this version than u don't like the original, end of story.

Wow. You just don't mess with a classic. You just don't. I'm sure many other AF fans feel the same
  • Restraint

Wake Up - Just as AF’s performance is big and powerful JL’s version handles the core passion of the piece with artistic restraint. A worthy rendition with top notch production. If JL's version mirrored AF's he would have failed. 4 Stars.

I really liked this version better than the arcade fire one. Then again, I never was a huge fan of Arcade Fire's, there's just something grating about Win Butler's voice that I can't get past...anyways, this one was great, I liked the more grooving feel.
