  • Just another classic

Lightfoot recorded so many great albums, that some got lost in the shuffle; he wrote great songs so easily, that it must have gotten boring (not really) ; but the title song; + "Second Cup of coffee" and a few others here are drop-dead stuff--he looks pretty cool on the cover too...buy this and ALL his other music--

I was thinking about the song Christian Islands (Georgian Bay) and thining about hearing Gordon Lightfoot in concert in the early 70s. Someone gave me this album as a gift when I was 17 and I have no idea what ever happened to the LP - so I found it here. This is such classic Lightfoot - I just melt listening to it.

This is signiture Gordon. I'm so glad iTunes has it available for purchase. I don't think it's very mainstream, but for those who are looking for lesser-known Gordon Lightfoot songs, this is a great purchase. "Don Quixote" and "Ode to Big Blue" are very whimsical, very classic folk. On this album, does what he does best: tells tales through his music. His guitar tone never ceases to amaze me - a haunting and beautiful sound that harks back to the early days of North American folk.
