Every song is full of goodness. Have these in my favorites play list with Borrowed Time as an extra favorite. Great lyrics and soulful vocals. Good stuff - can't wait for what is next...

Kathy/Kris, this IS the perfect album you said you wanted to create so many years ago! And Congratulations to you all!

By what nicname is not taken?
The album was well worth the wait. I am glad it is finally here. This band has so much talent and heart both on and off the stage and few times I have had the oppertunity to meet them in person. They are the REAL thing. The lead guitarist is one of the best I have ever heard and would match her skills on her geetar to anyone male or female. Pick it up you wont be disappointed.
  • 23 Red! We have a winner!

In today's world of auto-tune, song writing factories, and big, flashy marketing, it is all too easy to stare right at the diamond in the rough, without noticing it. Do yourself a favor, take the time to cut through the weeds, and find the diamond that is 23 Red. Rich with talent, the women of Antigone Rising bet it all on this CD, and we're all winners for it! Founders Cathy and Kristen Henderson, along with long-time drummer Dena Tauriello are joined by new lead singer/guitarist Nini Camps to bring us the latest, and greatest incarnation of Antigone Rising. Although this is their first studio recording together, they have been touring and performing together for several years. They're friendship shines through as they blend their sounds together to serve us the vast and eclectic menu that serves up love in many variations. No Remedy serves us lost love, while Everywhere is Home serves us pure, true love. Borrowed Time is a healthy serving of love for our children, and Breaking Me is the desert hesitance of new love. And in Pink Sunglasses, a song that should be sent to the department of tourism, we're served a piping hot serving of NYC love. Having seen the band perform several times over the past few years, I wasn't expecting any surprises from these song, but was I wrong. Repeatedly I found myself thinking, "Wow! I've never heard THAT before!" Never was it as obvious as it was with Breaking Me. This version has Nini sliding over into the passenger seat and Dena drives this song as her beats bring it all to life. That the Henderson sisters have kept this band alive through a mulitude of cast changes is a testament to their dedication to making good music. 23 Red proves that their dedication was not misdirected, or mispent. Do yourself a favor, bet your music dollars with the Women of Antigone Rising on 23 Red. Guaranteed winner.

i was really looking forward to this cd however i was disappointed after listening to it. There music has changed so much that i felt i was listening to a different group. No great lead solos that made their music enjoyable. Lyrics that do not seem as good as the older music. A different lead singer. I am not saying that this is bad because it is good in its own way. I am just saying it is not what i expected from Antigone Rising.

Antigone Rising is a solid group of musicians with enormous talent for both writing and performing. Ever since I bought their first CD I've been waiting for the next. And 23 Red does not disappoint! As much as I loved the first album, this one is even better. Definitely worth buying.
