😞 Purchased this and have been unable to get it correctly downloaded from ITunes. It tells me the file is corrupted, every single time I log in and I cannot use it.

I waited, with tickets in hand, for my friend in his Greenwich Village 3rd floor walk-up apartment to return from the first concert. Well how was it? He was agog and aglow as he came in the door. You will not believe who was there! Bob Dylan he screeched, his voice gone from screening. Most people do not realize that there was no advance billing of participants. We purchased tickets for two known reasons. Altruistic, to help the victims of Bengali Desh and, selfish, to be in the presence of a Beatle playing music. I have been most fortunate in my life. To be at Woodstock, code word Burt Sommer, and to be here at what I feel that so many years ago set the standard for benefit concerts. Bless you George! Hare Krishna; Hare HareπŸ™

If A "Beatles" Fan? If A "George Harrison" Fan? If A "Music" Fan? This is A "Must Own"! This is Really "The Best Of The Best" Of Those Times! The Movie's Even Better, Buy That Also! "Classic"! Clapton, Dylan, Billy Preston, etc.

I remember this album very well from my youth and love every track (except the sitar crap at the beginning). I have to say the backup vocals come off as grating and annoying, this makes this album almost unlistenable. I do not know if they were re-mixed louder as I don't remember them being so obnoxious. As an example of these grating vocals check out "Awaiting on you all" and "My sweet lord". Shut up already!!

This concert has achieved mythic status for three reasons. First and second, it was led by one of the Beatles, and he happened to be the quiet one. Following so closely after the Beatles break-up, it was a revelation to see George fronting anything. It also followed up his first solo triple album that was received by everyone, critics and consumers alike, as the best reason why The Beatles should be broken up. Third, it was the first charity concert to achieve such enormous recognition. You can thank George for that benefit concert to honor last winter's sorethroat victims in lower Sheepsbladder, Wyoming. And then there's Dylan. For much of my adult life, Dylan has been on a neverending concert tour. Many of my friends cannot remember a time when Dylan was not on tour. But in those days, Dylan hadn't performed in concert or even appeared in public for years. I grew up in Brooklyn and there was a guy who was famous in New York City for going through the garbage from Dylan's Village apartment every day looking for clues to what he was up to. So when he showed up to help his buddy, George, it was like Jesus showed up carrying his guitar. All of that being said, this album doesn't stand the test of time too well. Few things do. Aside from Dylan's few songs, all classics, in which he is not only in great voice, but he shows more energy and enthusiasm than any 10 of today's lame shows combined, the rest of the concert is totally forgettable. Too bad, too. Clapton is there, but doesn't perform, forchristssake! Badfinger is there and performs, forchristssake! Billy Preston goes biblical. And there is way too much Leon "Where the hell is he now?" Russell. Get it on vinyl, the boxset is cool.

This review is on Leon Russell's "Jumpin' Jack Flash/Youngblood Medley" only. I have the original vinyl release, and downloaded the Medley to save me the hassle of media conversion (for my own personal use, of course). Unfortunately, the version offered on iTunes is not the same version as on the original vinyl release (taken from a different night?). This is clearly evident during the first "break" in Youngblood when Leon sings "Lookie there...", and is answered by other singers. On the vinyl he is answered first with "Lookie there...", followed by a female singer's mistake (should've been on the second break) "You're the one...", and thirdly answered "Lookie there". On the iTunes version there is no mistake. I cannot say if the other tunes are different as I did not download them. The Concert For Bangladesh is musical history, and I am not trying to diminish that at all. But I believe it to be unfortunate that the original (at least the Medley) is not being offered here for those who may be new to this historical Concert, or may be looking for digital versions of the original release.
