The adjectives I would use: Meditative, soulful, mellifluous, as well as a beat, an undercurrent that really speaks to your inner animal, for lack of a better word. Hard to describe how it can be all these things at once. Now, when I wake up in the morning, I play specific tracks to center myself....instead of just waking up to the noise and to take off running into the world, like usual. And I'm not a crunchy granola kinda person. My world is filled with news and stocks and politics (all that ugly ranting) and lawyers and judges and all their NOISE. This movie AND the music really got a hold of me...I'm now stopping to reflect, to get quiet, find a peaceful moment, and to hopefully operate on another level. Yeah, this album is that good! (So is the movie - it's cool. Enlightening.)

Saw the movie, and it was great! But you don't have to have seen the movie to appreciate the soundtrack if you already enjoy music of this type/genre. Highly recommend. There is not one song on here I don't like. The whole album is wonderful and it flows really well. Good for taking a bath and chilling out or for driving down the road.

Wonderful ethereal, transportive, current music. Takes you to your own exotic hotel in India.

Recently purchased the soundtrack and I am glad I did. Brings me so much joy. I thought this was because I am a fan of the film itself but others who have not seen the film are equally impressed by this uplifting and heartfelt soundtrack. Somehow it avoids being too sentimental. This is score composition at its best. The Newman Dynasty of great composers carries on.

This album is a splendid mix of energetic tunes and lazy, laid-back soporific Indian music -- and while I can't recall exactly where each song fit into the movie, the CD re-captures the overall feel of this wonderful, exotic and life-affirming film.

Buyer beware, nice music, but I purchased this entire album a few days ago and at least 5 of the tracks only play for 18 seconds. Seems like they sold me the previews instead of the entire tracks.

If you liked the film (of the same name), you'll no doubt enjoy the soundtrack. Like it's Indian locale, it's exotic, beautiful, and ethereal. I'm enjoying it now!
