Needless to say, it completely rocked and led me to another great band to explore. This was their first album with real, clean production quality to it and the songs are a boot to the face (this is a positive in Viking metal). My favorite track is Pursuit of Vikings, it's a tough choice as this album is one of their most balanced. BUY IT! ODIN WILL SMITE THEE FOR THINE INSOLENCE IF YOU DON'T!

If you have the option I recommend listening to Pursuit of Vikings with reduced treble, the guitar is nice, but, I find all the high pitched nonsense just gets in the way of the bass

I love the beat of the song, and the lyrics are amazing. This song is so catchy. I also recommend to buy the album twilight of the thunder god. This album and twilight of the thunder god are amazing albums. Buy them both now!!!!!!!! I give all Amon Amarth albums 5/5 stars! Very talented band. I want to see them live.

Amazing, simply stated. My favorite on here is "The Beheading of a King." If you like Death Metal, buy this album. It's perfect.

Like one of the other reviewers, this album was my introduction to Amon Amarth. It blows my mind everytime I listen to it, this has to be Viking/Melodeath at it's finest. Epic solos, perfect vocals for the theme, and the drummer bangs the sh!t out of those drums. I'm sure the bassist is good (i can't really hear him much ha). Another thing that amazed me was the fact that they can take a song that's just as heavy as the others and make it emotionally touching, or sad (Fate of Norns). If you're looking to get into the genre, get off your a*s and buy this CD. NOW.
  • More melodic and slower than With Oden On Our Side

Fate Of Norms, Amon Amarth’s 2004 album is a solid Melo-Death/Viking Metal album with even a Progressive edge and somewhat longer songs then their most recent albums With Oden On Our Side, and Twilight Of The Thunder God. Overall not much filler and more variety than the above mentioned album but nothing that stands out much. Best songs are An Ancient Sign Of Coming Storm, Fate Of Norms, The Pursuit Of Vikings, Once Sealed In Blood, another notable song is The Beheading Of A King. Recommended to fans of Amon Amarth and Melo-Death/Epic Viking Metal.

I was introduced to Amon Amarth by one of my friends and they instantly became one of my favorite bands. Along with Turisas and Ensiferum, they were also my introduction to viking/ folk metal. It too, instantly became my favorite metal genre.
