I grew up on Zeppelin. I love the band, always will. They were the greatest band in all of rock and roll history, period. Having said that, I love how Robert Plant is trying to expand, trying to break those ties. If you just play in the greatest band in the world over and over again, it'll get stale, boring, and that's what Plant is trying to avoid. We all know he loves Led, hell who doesn't? But let the man explore the world while he can. Also saw him in concert and this show blew my mind, it was/is awesome.

I have always been a fan of RP and enjoyed his morphs through the decades. I have seen all of his shows along the way. HOWEVER, the past did not prepare me for the MIND BLOWING experience this show has!!! It's one of those things you can't explain. You just had to be there with us... looking out from the Red Rocks over the stage with the starry sky above and Denver's twinkling lights below... The thrill of what I was experiencing. I am glad I had no idea what his set list was going to be and I had not read the reviews, because I was so taken aback when I heard those old favorites with a different twist by the master himself. Robert Plant mesmerized, excited and amazed me. I was on my feet, rocking out to the best show I have ever seen in my life! I came on here to see if there is an album. I know it won't be the same, but I just have to hear it all again. I'm flying out to Atlanta to see him again. Yes. It's that good. As for the Zep heads…I was there when the albums first came out when I was a 16 year old babe. It was my favorite band. But, even I got weary of 40 years of the same tunes. I have so appreciated RP's growth in music. It has allowed me to enjoy my favorite singer in refreshing ways. Nobody rocks it like he can! For the Zep heads that apparently just don't get it….I don't even have the patience to explain what your missing. Grow up.

I'm still buzzing from RP & The SSS show @ Portland's Waterfront Blues Festival (July 7th). Sensational Sunday was quite a day. We heard some incredible music from; Robert Randolph, Taj Mahal, Mavis Staples (& many others / w 6 statges) & we topped it off with Robert & his new band. Now when you're listening to so much great music, enjoying the sunshine, great people, wonderful views & in the groove, when you're having this much fun... & a legend takes the stage, everything changes. Suddenly you're taken to heights you never imagined. & such was the case on Sensational Sunday. We suddenly found ourselves rockin' to the incredible sounds of Robert's new rendition of his classic Led tunes. I could go on forever, but will leave it @; The Dude is still cool & way talented. Older, wiser (perhaps) & the best Rock Singer I know. Thank You Robert, you & your band are Sensational, for sure. Rock On Dude(!) Rock On!!

Just saw these guys at the L.A. show, Plant still sounds amazing, and the Space Shifters are a very good band. They do a great job of putting Plant's newer influences on classic Led Zep tunes. Rock on!!

For all of you whiners out there, this is NOT Led Zeppelin, nor will there ever be another Led Zeppelin. This is, rather, a great R&B singer, a great singer period, having a great time doing what he does best...sing. The band is tight, the arrangements are fascinating and it's a great performance. Granted it's a bit long, but this is some fun stuff. I read similar comments on Mark Knopfler's wonderful new cd as well. Cue whiney voice, "It's NOT Dire Straits...". If any of you whiners were REAL music fans you'd know that both of these guys moved on LONG ago. Maybe it's time for you to move on as well. Pay attention, this is good music performed by a great singer with really good, tight band. Get it? Good...
  • Saw Robert perform this set in Clarksdale, MS

I saw Robert perform this exact show in Clarksdale, Mississippi, at the end of the summer. The show was absolutely one of the most amazing musical performances I have ever seen in my life. Robert Plant in person is still the ultimate rock star. That being said, there is definitely something lost from the live performance to the recording. There is simply no way to give you the amazing feeling you get doing a call and answer on Black Dog with the man himself. I would not have released this album. That being said, it's a good survey of the blues done by one of music's best. That alone earns it a few stars.
  • Some People..

Getting really tired of people who are complaining because Plant refuses to do a full Led Zeppelin reunion tour. Led Zeppelin were always willing to try anything and take risks, its one of the things that made them great. Robert is doing the same things, and pleasing himself. Trying to recreate the magic that was Zeppelin every night on stage when they aren't 100% into it would possibly ruin their everlasting legacy, and besides it will never be completely Led Zeppelin without Bonzo. So kudos to Percy on fulfulling his own musical adventures.
  • Why ????

I do not understand what Robert Plant is doing. He says that he does not want to do Zeppelin songs yet he constantly does them in his own shows. What comes out is a mess of re-arranged Zeppelin material performed by mediocre musicians backing him. I have been a Lon time fan but very disappointed for a while now.
  • Interesting--Robert Plant's Voice is Now a Duet

I'm still getting into the record, but it's interesting to note that whenever Robert is singing an older track, his lead vocal is actually him and Patti singing together. She's singing the actual line, hitting all the highs he used to hit, while Robert is there for a accent and inflection. It's a trick not unlike what Sade uses (but with a man to hit her lows). He's older, it's no fault of his own that he can't hit the highs anymore--on an artistic level, I applaud his choice.
