This is the kind of music I need when I wanna get hyped. “Out of My League” is that kind montage-like background music to good memories and is just all around great vibes. And EVERY TIME I hear “The Walker” I need to break out into dance, thank god for Fitz and the Tantrums! I needed this music!

Back in 2013 I was fairly into this album and band. I think it's safe to say that i'm mostly over it (and them) 5 years later. I wouldn't say that the songs on here are bad, but they're not particularly good either. The best songs on this album make for decent background music, but is it much of a compliment to say that the music is pleasant background noise meant to be mostly ignored?
Though I kinda dig the modern twist on an 80's vibe, this album gets grating and annoying pretty quickly. The best songs are still only 3 star quality and most of the album hovers right around that line of 2 star keeper and throwaway.
In general, i don't get down with synth heavy bands passing off fake instruments as legitimate songs. When i'm listening to this album I can't help but wonder how they would sound live and acoustic without their corner-cutting and fake help. I also can't stand the female singer's voice. How good a song is seems to directly correlate with how much vocal time she gets.
Overall there's five 3 star songs and four 2 star songs with the rest being throwaways. In general the album is bookened by the 3 star songs with most of the weaker tunes landing in the middle.
Yay!
