How far Dido has traveled in her few albums. From the searing opening music of No Angel (still my favorite album), to the skillfully crafted Life for Rent and the heartbreaking Safe Trip Home, we have been blessed to hear an artist at work. She has spanned the globe with songs of heartbreak and love and we have travel with her. I listen to her albums on a constant basis and love them all. I have to admit that Safe Trip Home took me a minute to digest. Dido has always been a quiet artist. No screams or unnecessary trills that have ruined the music of Christina Aguliara and others of her kind. But on her latest album, Dido doesn't sound so much tired as, maybe, disinterested in the whole thing. I think the album comes sharply alive towards the middle with Sitting on the Roof of the World and Love to Blame, but much of the album feels forced and recycled. Dido is a vocalist of limited range, which is what I love about her. Her voice seems to come from another place and it is among my favorites in my known universe. But this album lacks something that all of her previous albums had. I would use the word soul but thats not quite right. Heart? No, thats not it either. I have the feeling that this album will be one that grows on me and will be much played in my home. The Dixie Chicks, Sade, Cassandra Wilson….so many albums are that way for me. So i'll just say this effort is not her best for me. But its much better than most of the albums i've bought this year!
  • Where is the soul..?

This CD is long on TECHNO, short on soul!
  • She never disappoints

Love this album...certain songs just hit home like "Loveless Heart," "Happy New Year"... So worth the wait.

I had long been waiting for Dido to release some new material, and this new album is far from disappointing. It's amazing. She goes a little into some dub step and remixes, but I believe it's a nice side to explore. My favorite songs are: Let us move on, Blackbird, No Freedom, and End of Night.
