  • I Wanted Lianne La Havas' Album to Be This Good

When I first heard and bought "Gone" by Lianne La Havas a couple years ago, I checked out her other songs and found myself only interested in buying one other song, "Is Your Love Big Enough?" instead of the whole album. I really love both these songs along with her Alt-J song and thought last night to see if Lianne had a new album out. Listening to each song on the album, I found myself only interested, again, in buying two songs: "Grow" and "Good Goodbye". Then Laura's album caught my eye in the Listeners Also Bought list. I first listened to "She" and said, "Wow!" … then after listening to each song I said, "Holy Wow!" this is what I was hoping to hear with Lianne's new album. This album ranks with other "Fully Complete and Unique" albums that I like and revisit often such as, Neil Young's "Greendale", Arcade FIre's "Reflektor", Lord Huron's "Lonesome Dreams" and Jeff Buckley's, "Grace". Every song on "Sing to the Moon" peaks my curiosity along with being truly enjoyable to listen to. This album is a masterpiece that I'm sure I will be exploring and revisiting for quite some time and would consider myself very fortunate to put together an exhibition of my paintings as truly wonderful as this collection of songs.

It’s been a very long time I could listen to an album and close my eyes and go into another world and envision what is being sung about and Laura Mvula is excellent on every track on this album I plan to learn every track and once I get enough funds I’m planning to purchase each song she is on on iTunes and get lost with each of them. Can I rate this album more than 5 or better yet more than 10?

If you are a big fan of Jill Scott, Adelle, and old school Roberta Flack, you will likely be a huge fan of Laura Mvula. The entire album is outstanding!

I adore Laura Mvula, she is absolutely brilliant. There is not one bad song to be found on this album, "Green Garden", "She", "That's Alright" and "Sing to the Moon" leave me breathless. I can't wait for her next release, a mature modern woman with an old soul 5/5

No other CD released in 2013 impacted me to the degree that Sing to the Moon did. Somewhere between, Bjork and the soundtrack to a 1950’s epic movie, it truly is a wondrous work of art.
