This is the first Country Music album I've ever owned. Not sure there's any need in owning another.

Sturgill Simpson is an actual artist. The man is a poet with an outstanding and unique voice. His guitar stylings, (while not extremely obvious in his songs with a full band backing him up), are on par with any of the legends and once people realize how truly dope this dude is, he's going down as one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time.
  • Love this album

Lacks the X factor along with a slight lack of power and more soul needed.

I accidentally came across Sturgill Simpson. I've never heard of him, but I must say I agree with the previous comment, this is what country needs.!!.The country music fans have been left out in the cold without any "TRUE" country songs anymore. Everything is so fast paced, off beat, and drowned out by the, what I call, hip hop country. Sturgill Simpsons songs are stomping ground and taking country music back to its roots and reason it's called country music. Very impressed and ready to sing a country tune now. Also Chris Stapleton is awesome.
