  • Ringo Starr July 2008

My wife and I went to see Ringo and his All Starr Band in Primm, NV in July 2008. This CD was surprisingly good. I bought it at a retail store for $8.99. It isn't quite the same set as his current tour, as some of the musicians have changed, but the 2003 Tour CD did remind me of a good deal of his current show. Edgar Winter was phenomenal! He stole the show. Billy Squier and Collin Hayes (Men at Work) were also great during the 2008 concert. I was hoping to find a CD reflecting the current 2008 tour, but this is fairly close. It's classic Ringo. He's down to earth, laid back, and jokes with the audience. All the musicians with Ringo are gifted and stars in their own right. I highly recommend the 2003 Tour CD.
  • What Happened To Sheila E. version of Glamourous Life?

It's not great to have Ringo Starr & Sheila E. together playing her song. When that song came out, Ringo Starr was not in it. Just Prince. Where is that Version? People, This came out in the 80ies. Let's not put a live Ringo & Sheila cover that was great back then. I would like the 80ies Version on my iPod. The Sheila E. & Prince Together.

What can I say except they don't call Him Starr for nothing. He was the Fab 4's beat, And John Lennons loved friend. Seeing His allstars was such a treat. All the great musicians/lead singers is like getting to see all of those bands as well. I'll never forget it. I was in the last row, But I didn't care 1 bit. Check em out, Any way You can PEACE And Love Always

I saw this All Starr tour in 2003 and this is a wonderful very happy memory for me. I can highly recommend this album. Ringo, of course, is fabulous and plays his greatest hits, plus the wonderful cuts from Ringo Rama, a GREAT album. Unfortunately only one of those is included here, Memphis In Your Mind, but the DVD has the rest I believe. Great all stars too, namely Colin Hay from Men At Work and the incomparable Shelia E- one of the greatest drummer/percussionists of the world! Sheila totally blew me away. I love her. No wonder Ringo brings her along on tour. She shines. There is nothing like seeing Ringo in concert and watching him ask the audience his name and see him smile, hold out his arms and enjoying the wave of love when the audience yells out Ringo. Yes- love is all you need. Peace and Love, Aujouret

I finally decided to go and see Ringo on his 2006 tour. I had listened to his live stuff on previous CD's but I found out none of them match the real live performance. This CD comes closest. Every song is played well, sounds good and reminds me of being there. The Ringo songs are his typical set list plus one or two you don't get too often. The others in his all-starr band depend on what you like. You have to be there to really appreciate how good Shelia E is on drums. Even so, I hope we get a Ringo and the Roundheads tour before Ringo hangs it up for good.

Why is Ringo Star taking great songs like Who can it be now and down under and make money from it??? those songs are by men at work a good band that they don't have on Itunes. Atleast the songs sound ok compared to some of those terrible tribute bands.

I would hardly call Ringo a good singer, However i was impressed with his singing in down under...i would give that song by itself 5 stars but overall.......
