I had been a Pixies fan before Dooliittle, but this is one great album. Played this on cassette more times than I can count during the early 90s. I still love this album after 30 years. One of my favorite Pixies songs is the final song on this album, Gouge Away.

I heard the track “Hey” play on Sirius XMU. Looked everywhere online to just listen to it again and I could not find the same amazing studio version. So I took a virtual trip to iTunes and may have discovered one of the most powerful albums of my life and it’s 3 years older than me. Came looking for “Hey” and also found “Debaser” and “Monkeys gone to Heaven”. Had to grab the whole album!

Well if you cannot be convinced of the music then buy it for its production value. Gil Norton is genius. You will never hear better sounding guitars- period! Twenty five or so years later the sound is still unholy.
