As a kid growing up in the 80’s and with an Italian American Mother Madonna meant so much to us. Every album she did was a classic. Her videos were so memorable. The “Music” album was a departure but still enjoyable. “American life” had two great singles but the rest of the album was a skip fest. Ever since than she has gone in way different directions which I respect but every album since “American life” has been the same result minus the singles being good. This is just my opinion though.

    This started Madonna's cultural/music decline.

Not a lot of people like this album. I do. It’s an amazing amount different from what she has done. But the lyrics of this album speak a lot of words if u really pay attention you will live them. Great songs and music one of my favorite albums from Madonna

Those guitar chord stroke to the heart and the revolutionary lyrics that accompany them are so on point. A must have.

This will be remembered as one of her best. Only gets better with age.

“American Life” might have been vilified when it came out in 2003 (mostly for political reasons). Fast-forward to 2020, and it still is as relevant as ever thematically. This album did not get old and it sounds super duper fresh 17 years its debut.

American Life is a very cohesive album which maintains its tone from start to finish. A few tracks are a little dated (the rap in the title track, and I’m So Stupid haven’t necessarily aged well) but there are some real gems here. Standout tracks (for me, anyway) include Nothing Fails, her Bond track Die Another Day, Intervention, Nobody Knows Me, Mother and Father, Love Profusion and Easy Ride.
