Morrissey set the bar very high for not only himself but for every artist. He mixes thoughtful and intriguing lyrics with great tracks all through this album. His voice sounds fragile yet strong. Sounds as though he is sitting just a few feet from you at an empty bar in LA telling you about his life's ups and downs... It's personal this time. It's emotional and gripping. Every song is interesting. The subject matter jumps around and so does the overall vibe of the record. This is not a boring record. I've gained insight to life from the album. He teaches you. He guides you. He warns you. He scorns you. Speedway is the masterpiece. But 4 other songs are brilliant. great production.

...sheer musical brilliance. I only wish he had more full albums as beautiful as this one.
