Diana looks and sounds awesome! Although I don't know why iTunes only has 4 music videos by Diana Ross least people not be aware she make more than 20 music video's--so far! "I Will Survive" (with RuPaul), "The Force Behind The Power"(written for her by Stevie Wonder), "Swept Away"(which is 14 minutes long), "Chain Reaction"(written for her by the Bee Gee's and who sing back up on it), "Eaten Alive"(Michael Jackson sings backup), "Muscles" (written for her by Michael Jackson) and the haunting "Missing You" (which is dedicated to her mother and Marvin Gaye but now, sadly, she can dedicate to Michael as well) to name a few wonderful video moments. Come on iTunes, bring on your A game for Diana Ross fans!

This remake of "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" became a instant hit for Diana Ross in 1981. Diana appears to be having a great time running, and dancing, down the streets of Las Vegas. This is a likeable song and video. It's well worth the small purchase price!

Diana has always had a special professional relationship with Las Vegas. The "Farewell" performance by Diana Ross and The Supremes was held at the now defunct, Frontier Hotel (which can be seen in this video). Her very first HBO special, "Tour '79-80 One Night Only", was filmed at Caesar's Palace (also shown in this video).....so I guess she felt compelled to film one of her earliest videos in Las Vegas. Before it experienced yet another level of entertainment popularity, The Brat Pack, Elvis and Diana had already made their mark in this town. Before the resident stays by Celine Dion, Cher, Elton John and Bette, Diana signed a multi-date contract with Caeasar's Palace in the 70s. She also employed the talents of Marty Callner, to direct this video. Marty went onto direct many of her other videos including "I Will Survive" w/RuPaul in the late 90s and also her HBO special. As well as, videos for Aerosmith, Garth Brooks, Whitney Houston, Cher and most recently, Will Ferrell's Tony/Emmy-nominated performance of bush, "A Final Night w/Bush" (thank heavens). However, Las Vegas is one of my least favorite places and this video does little to change that. Honestly, I was happy this was another Top 10 hit for Diana, and even bigger Internationally. Still, I don't particularly care for the song, nor music from that era for that matter. It is one of the few songs in her gigantic repertoire that I have yet to warm up to. That said, it is great to see the first of her RCA videos finally surfacing on iTunes. Diana initially had challenges mastering the video medium since she comes from a more stage performance-based career. Still, "Muscles" from her next album was a vast improvement on this one. And the trio of videos that came from "Eaten Alive" finally demonstrated that she could be compelling in video as she is on stage or vinyl. The "Why Do Fools" album garnered platinum level sales and 3 bonafide hits, including the even weaker video, "Mirror, MIrror" though it was one of the best songs on that album and "Work That Body", a fun, effortless video that was literal in translation. So while I am happy to see her video library building on iTunes, when it has been in full regalia on most of the other sites, this is one of my least favorite songs and videos. But it is still comparable to a lot of the earlier videos of the video era.
